The art of the painter Gagik Manoukian originates from the roots of Armenian art and culture, but
his independent creative activities also reflects best traditions of Armenian avant-garde, especially
Martiros Sarjan’s dramatic sense form and colors. Manoukian adopted with virtuosity the experience
of modern art, including cubism, expressionism, and consepts of world abstract art.

Manoukian’s work shows a range various styles. Since the beginning of his career, he has been
inspired by female beauty, depicting intimate compositions of female psychology in rich colors.

In his figurative and still-life themes, landscapes and lyrical abstract compositions, their colors being
full of sun and most of all he likes to analyze light in a colored material. His style is unique for its fluent
transitions color tones with inner contrasts, thus forming dynamic composition of painting.

His work is deep-felt, and magically expresses the complicated universe of human psychology
